Joaquin and Yolanda Perez have been rescuing dogs and cats from the streets of La Paz, cleaning them up, feeding and nursing them to health, and then finding loving homes for them for over 12 years. About 5 years ago, they officially formed a non-profit organization and named it, appropriately, Huellitas del Corazon which means “little footprints of the heart.” In addition to rescuing and finding homes for dogs and cats, Huellitas del Corazon offers numerous educational events concerning proper care, vaccination, training, and the importance of spaying/neutering.
While we find forever homes here in La Paz, Huellitas del Corazon also arranges transportation to Canada and the United States when a family wishes to adopt one of our pets.
